WWF-New Zealand is part of a global network and also works at an international level to aid sustainable development. WWF works with New Zealand for New Zealand. Our science-based approach is respected and we have a strong voice with government, business and communities. Hectors & Maui’s Dolphin Campaign Hectors and Maui’s dolphins are found only in New Zealand. They are closely related - in fact Maui’s dolphin is sub species of Hector’s Dolphin. Today there are just over 7000 Hectors Dolphins left, down from 26,000 in 1970, and they are endangered. Maui’s dolphins are regarded as critically endangered with just 111 animals left. Hectors and Maui’s Dolphin are seriously threatened. Every year more than 100 die from either being caught in or affected in some other way by fishing nets. If action is not taken to protect them, they could become effectively extinct - meaning that even though there are still dolphins living around New Zealand, there are so few of them living in small isolated groups, that they cannot find mates and breed. Maui’s dolphins are already on the verge of extinction. With such a tiny fragile population, the only way we can give them the best chance of survival is to remove all human-threats to their existence. Help us save these beautiful animals by making a donation to WWF. To make a donation click below For more information about WWF click below
Vision / Matakite --------------------- Mission Statement “Preventing the transmission of HIV and supporting people affected by HIV and AIDS to maximise their health and well-being. Ki te arai i te tuku o te HIV me te whakapai ake i te hauora me --------------------- NZAF urgently need your support. With around 2,000 New Zealanders living with HIV and numbers growing every year, demands on their services continue to grow, placing greater strain on existing funding sources. The New Zealand AIDS Foundation relies on donations and support from individuals and businesses in order to support the ongoing delivery of HIV prevention and support services. These include health promotion and education, counselling, HIV testing, support, research, analysis and advocacy, some of which are not covered or easily funded through government contracts. Receipts are issued for donations, and donations are tax deductible as appropriate. Click below to make a donation For more information on NZAF please click below
