Want the freedom of a self-contained campervan but with a little extra comfort? Our Escape Self-contained PLUS campers give you exactly that.
Just like our Self-contained Campervans, these campers are designed and certified to NZS: 5465 standards, with an onboard toilet, fresh and grey water tanks, and everything required for responsible freedom camping across New Zealand.
The PLUS? These vans also come fitted with a fridge and a secondary battery system, giving you more off-grid independence.
Secondary Battery System powers:
- LED lighting (energy-efficient for nightly use)
- USB ports (charge your phones, cameras, and GPS)
- A fridge to keep your food and drinks cold
Battery Duration:
Lasts 2–3 days off-grid depending on usage and weather (note: fridges use more power in hot conditions).
Recharging:
- While driving: The alternator charges the secondary battery as you travel.
- At powered campsites: Plug into mains power to recharge fully and run 240V appliances such as the heater or desk lamp.
Because Escape operates a ‘No Hidden Costs’ policy, there are heaps of inclusions and only a couple of optional items (which are not included) for you to consider:
Insurance: You may want to upgrade your standard insurance so that you have nil liability when travelling with us.
Optional accessory items are not included but are available for hire (picnic table, BBQ,) check out our optional accessories.
Transmission guarantee is not included. We have a mix of both manual and automatic transmissions. You can state your preference when you book, but if you specifically NEED an automatic transmission, you can pay an ‘Automatic Transmission Guarantee Fee’ of $150.
Our Self-contained PLUS campervans are also among the newest in our fleet and include all the same standard inclusions and optional extras as the regular self-contained campers — with the added benefit of staying powered up on the road.
