Prices are per day and include GST (tax) unlimited kilometres, insurance, multiple drivers, 24 hour roadside support, all cooking and living equipment, guidebooks, maps, discount vouchers and more.
When you make a reservation with Escape Rentals, a deposit of NZ$300 is required to secure the booking. This is a secure payment made online via credit card. You then simply pay the balance and any other costs (additional items, insurance excess waiver etc) when you collect your vehicle. Escape Rentals accepts all major credit and debit cards. Escape Campervans operate with seasonal pricing. If your intended travel dates cross two different rate periods, your rental will be charged based on the number of days of campervan hire incurred in each period and will take into account the long term hire discounts. Remember, rates are based on a per calendar day basis. Use our online ‘Instant quotes and bookings’ calculator to work out how much you’ll have to pay. Once Escape Campers has confirmed a booking and the hirer has paid a deposit, that booking is subject to the following cancellation policy: • If you cancel your confirmed Escape reservation more than 22 days from your scheduled pick up date, we will refund your deposit in full. The only exclusion to this is for bookings traveling during the period of 01 September 2011 to 31 October 2011. All bookings for this period are nonrefundable. • If you cancel your confirmed Escape reservation within 7 to 21 days from your scheduled pick up date, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $300 (lose your deposit) or 20% of your total hire cost, whichever is higher. • If you cancel your confirmed Escape reservation within 1 to 6 days from your scheduled pick up date, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of your total gross rental cost. • If you cancel your confirmed Escape reservation on day of pick up, or you ‘no-show’, then you will be charged 100% of your gross rental cost. If you return your Escape Campervan early for any reason whatsoever after travel has commenced, then no refund is available. Escape Rentals accepts Visa and Mastercard credit cards  . Simply pay your $300 deposit via credit card (this is a secure online transaction) and pay the balance when you collect your campervan.Escape Campervans rates are charged on a calendar day basis. If you pick up your camper at midday on Saturday and drop it off at midday on Sunday, this hire would be calculated as two days. This is because campervans take some time to groom and prepare. This is consistent within the wider New Zealand campervan industry. 1 April to 31 October - The minimum rental period for return hires (Auckland to Auckland or Christchurch to Christchurch ) is 7 days. A 10 day minimum hire applies for one way hires within these dates. 1 November to 15 April - The minimum rental period for return hires (Auckland to Auckland or Christchurch to Christchurch ) is 10 days. A 16 day minimum hire applies for one way hires within these dates. We try to be flexible with these minimum requirements, so if you’re on a tight schedule, contact us and we’ll see what we can do. Standard insurance is included in the daily rate. However, hirers will be liable for any damage that may occur to the vehicle whilst it is on hire. This is an ‘excess payment’. It works like your own car insurance at home. You have your insurance premium (which is what’s included with your Escape hire) and in the event of an accident, you have your excess payment, which can vary depending on your age etc. Many of our hirers choose to take out ‘excess waiver insurance’ which reduces the liability of the excess significantly. This is a good option, because even if you’re an excellent driver, your vehicle may be damaged whilst parked or hit by someone without insurance (about a third of New Zealand drivers carry no insurance!). Other than general costs associated with your trip (like your daily hire, petrol, food, entertainment, campgrounds etc) there are a couple of optional costs you need to be aware of:
